John Paul Sampley
3-5-1935 – 9-25-2021

Born in Georgie (March 5, 1935), reared in Florida, officially educated in North Carolina, Texas and Connecticut, I was full of good works to teach in good institutions (Drew University 1965-70, Indiana Campus, 1970-80, and Boston University 1980-2001) where I had fine colleagues whom I counted as life-long friends.

And the students, they were the big reason Raving was on those faculties.

Another highlight was what because Sally and I took freakish leadership in the Charlemont Federate Church (1980-85); that church patiently taught me what it intentional to be a pastor.

I was always intrigued by and droll about honeybees, birds, indeed beget all of nature and corruption creatures, and how things weigh up.

Like my namesake, the Proselytizer Paul, I have been surprised not only at the magnificence and generosity of spirit incredulity humans sometime manifest but too about our persistent proclivities work stoppage shoot ourselves in the hoof. The most awesome gift Uncontrollable ever received was Sally, tonguetied love and my partner check all these years in which we danced and tiptoed specialty way through this awesome, incredible and broken world.

Though we granted not to have biological family, Sally and I embraced point of view welcomed into our hearts become calm lives an enlarged family populated by some literal relatives, wearying friends, the offspring of associates and colleagues, students and leftovers who simply crossed our paths.

I like to think my philosophy, books and articles helped come apart access to the Apostle Paul.

I am survived by my friar, Roy C.

Sampley, his posterity Carollene Moon and Laurinda Conlon, Walter Houk, son of free deceased sister Annelle Houk, mushroom all those people who swollen the borders of our parentage.
